Need Advise

Hello Pico Projectors forums,

I need advise on building table PC with multi touch screen and thinking
to use this micro projectors for the screen ... i have a few questions
that might you guys help:

1. Can i put the projector on the sides of the table
and using mirrors project on the top as a rear projector ?
2. how is the overall performance of this projector for that type of application ?
3. what is the lifetime of that kind of projector ?

Hi Guy,

Well I like your idea - cool!

1. Theres nothing stopping you doing this, they are lightweight (most sub 200grams) and you can get mount's that attach easily to stuff which would suit this purpose. I don't think* this has been done yet, would be cool to see!
2. These little projector's vary, if you get a 2nd generation one (most of the current ones like AAXA P2, 3M Mpro 120 are) then they will project quite well, especially over short throws like I presume you will be using - sub 2 meters.
3. 20, 000 hours is how long most last - bulb wise - which is quite a long time.

As well: They are all quite low wattage so this is a positive. I would recommend looking at what resolutions you want, because atm pico's are not that high res - (most are only 640x480, while you do get 800x600 svga and other res' ones.)

How are you doing the touch screen parts? you buying a touchscreen lcd?

Update us on how your project goes will you? would be cool to see some pics and see how you get on (even if you don't use pico's)

I do not understand, the pico projector have the 360 degree Tripod,it can project on the top,the side,the wall, why you need so complicate?

and the lifttime is based on the quanlity of the pico projector itself and have nothing about you use a mirrors or not?

Hows the hunt going? Any news...the LBO holographic laser pico just reminded me of this thread...it might suit you quite well as it has user interaction!
