Sixth Sense...

Hi peeps,
so I'm lurking here trying to resist the temptation of picking up a pico projector for a pendulum PC project (while eating a peck of pickled peppers possibly?) (See http://www.ted.com/talks/pattie_maes...xth_sense.html). This is hopefully going to form a part of my Masters thesis in HCI but its just one of a number of ideas which I'm playing with (however its probably the most "fun" one).

Being a typical student though, I'm broke and while the Sixth sense project was touted as having a $350 cost, I suspect that was just for the dangly bits and since we live in the UK where manufactures practice a strange kind of math, $350 US = $600 UK = £600 GBP *sigh* Roll on the £99 PPJ to play with on my PPC

Anyways, I thought I ought to say "hi" and give my compliments on the site; nice to see someone focusing on this great piece of new old tech and doing it so well

First of all welcome! - gotta love ted.com - that was one of the videos that inspired the site!!!

I would recommend checking out the beagleboard + texas instruments pico kit which might be an easier entry point - although most would be adaptable - will be interesting to see what sub £300 pico's make it to the uk 2010 and even more interesting to see what people like you can do with them!
